In 1847, Louis-Francois Cartier created Cartier the brand. The brand quickly obtained a glowing reputation and attracted a number of royal customers. In 1904, Cartier patented a wristwatch, for a Brazilian aviator, who had complained about the impracticality of pocket watches whilst flying. This was the first men’s wristwatch, and is still produced by Cartier today. Cartier started producing perfumes & fragrances in 1981, Santos and has since been joined eau de toilette, eau de parfum & aftershave such as by Pasha, Must de Cartier, Declaration, Roadster and Delices de Cartier.
